About Me

Welcome to my website!

Whether you are seeking personal growth or wish to work on relationships and intimacy, feeling comfortable with your therapist is the most important piece to getting started. I believe that the client-therapist relationship we develop together is a strong contributor to the work you do on this journey as you make progress and meet your goals. Here is a little about myself to help you decide if we are a good fit.

I value vulnerability, authenticity, being present in the moment, and having self-compassion and acceptance for oneself before working on relationships with others. I practice through a holistic lens and a mindful perspective, often teaching clients some of the very same techniques that I myself practice regularly to cope with the complex challenges life often brings. I hold the belief that as my client, you are the expert of your life, and I am here to help you identify your own personal goals and support you on your journey to achieve them.

As a AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, I specialize in sexual health and well being and am passionate about the power of connection between mind, body and spirit. What this means is that I believe we cannot work with one while ignoring the other (e.g., our stress can sometimes give us a physical headache, just as a headache can affect our mood and emotional state). Much of my work with individuals and couples also involves understanding themselves as sexual beings, whether this relates to their own personal journey or in their relationships. You can read more about this specialty here.

Additionally, I specialize in anxiety, stress management, parent/child issues, LGBTQ issues and PTSD within multicultural communities. Working with youth and their families is a passion of mine. My aim is to empower children, teens and parents to advocate for themselves, while supporting their unique journey and offering parenting, communication and self-care skills to promote personal growth and family unity. I have over 7 years of experience working with youth and families, first as an Educational Therapist in the San Diego community and most recently as a clinician providing child and family therapy at Rady Children’s Hospital Outpatient Psychiatry.

In addition to my private practice, I teach the graduate level Advanced Human Sexuality course at the University of San Diego (USD) and am continuing to expand my expertise in sexual health as I complete my Ph.D. in Human Sexuality at California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). In my free time, I love running, yoga, practicing Mindfulness, traveling and spending time with my family (including my white Labrador).
